1953 Studebaker Starlight Coupe
"The largest Vehicle builers in the world" is what
the Studebaker brothers called their horse-drawn wagon firm. They developed
their first horseless vehicle in 1897, though mainly they built bodies
for other cars. In 1902 Studebaker built their first car at the urging
of John Studebaker's son-in-law, Fred Fish. The electric was designed by
none other than Thomas Edison.
Though the future of Studebaker was prosperous
for some time, the company closed it's doors in the 1960s.
