Cecil Kimber built the first Morris Garages, the 14/28, in 1924. Based on the then current bullnosed Morris Oxford. In 1928, Cecil Kimber and William Morris formed the MG Car Company and opened the Abingdon factory the following year. The long-standing sports car factory remained until 1980.
