1926 Amilcar
C6/C0

Amilcar was founded in France in 1921 building small cyclecars that were designed by the duo of Jules Salomon and Edmond Moyet. Amilcar competed in organized motoring competitions in the mid-1920s. Their 1,100cc supercharged dohc sixes were available with two different crankshafts, depending on the purchasers level of need for speed.

The 1930s saw the firm change direction to building larger multi-passenger cars with less sporting emphasis. All was not lost though, as an Amilcar Pegase sport model competed in the 1937 Le Mans endurance event. Hotchkiss took over Amilcar in 1937 and the factory was closed two years later because of war.
