1936 Auburn 852 Sedan
From the last year of Auburn production came two last gasps, the Model 6-654 and the Model 8-852 (pictured). Since bigger engines for less money didn't sell more cars, maybe less engine for more money would. Not this time. Auburn produced a saddening 1,263 cars in 1936. 1937 models were announced but never produced. One of the world's automotive jewels closed its doors for good in October of 1937 as owner Errett Lobban Cord sold his holdings in the company amid government pressure.
