1922 Mercer Raceabout Series 5
This is one of my favorite photographs from the 1998 Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Mercer engineers knew even in 1922 that a fat steering wheel felt better in the hand than the little skinny wheels that cropped up on many other cars throughout history. Note the shape of the exterior mirror. Nice touch. A sporting car like this one even has bucket seats for extra stability and control when racing about.
