Didier Theys co-drove the winning Momo Ferrari 333 SP with team owner Gianpiero Moretti,
Arie Luyndyk, and Mauro Baldi. Theys was on the 1996 Moretti Racing team when they finished
second in the closest finish in Daytona 24 Hour history.

The Momo Ferrari completed 711 laps for a total of 2,531.2 miles. In comparison, the record for laps/distance
covered on this 3.56 mile road course was set in 1992 by the Nissan R91 CP. This Japanese team drove
762 laps for a total of 2,712.72 miles eclipsing the record from 1990 of 761 laps and 2,709.16 miles set by
the Jaguar XJR-12 trio of Davy Jones, Jan Lammers, and Andy Wallace.
