Davy Jones at 12 Hours of Sebring, 1991

Davy Jones, the former TWR Jaguar and CART driver, could have won the 1996 500 miler in Indianapolis had it not been for the wreckless driving of Eliseo Salazar, who drove Jones into the front straight wall with few laps remaining. Less than a month later Jones was teamed with Manuel Reuter and Alexander Wurz in the Joest Porsche WSC that beat the factory Porsche GT1 effort for the overall win in the 64th running at Le Mans. Jones also was the fastest driver on the team having qualified the car forth on the grid. Jones, no rookie in endurance racing, won the 1990 24 Hours of Daytona and finished second in the 1991 at Le Mans.
