What do Derek John Hill, Hans Stuck, P.J. Jones, Jacques Villeneuve, and Boris Said III have in common? They are all second generation race car drivers. Derek's father is 1961 F1 champion Phil Hill. Hans' father, also named Hans, raced the legendary Auto Unions of the mid 1930s. Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, is the father of P.J. Jacques' father, Gilles, drove for Ferrari in F1. Boris' father, "Bob", drove a Connaught in the Sebring Grand Prix of 1959.

Other second generation racers include Al Unser, Jr., Michael, Jeff, and John Andretti, Geoff, Gary, and David Brabham, Paul Stewart, Clint Mears, Alex Gurney, Christian Fittipaldi, Robby Gordon, Damon Hill, Page Jones, Juan Manuel Fangio II, to name a few. And don't forget the large number of second generation drivers racing in NASCAR.
