Tom Milner's Prototype Technology Group has conquered both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring (the 36 Hours of Florida) in 1997 and 1998 with his quasi-factory backed GTS-3 BMW M3 sedans/coupes. The squad won the Manufacturers title for BMW and team driver Bill Auberlen won the Driver's title in 1997. 1997 also marked the first time in the 22 year history of the 24 Hours of Daytona that the class now known as GTS-3 was not won by Porsche or Mazda.

Besides having great cars (which the team has been nursing to perfection for several seasons) Milner has the advantage of a smattering of dedicated, smart, and quick drivers. Drivers like Bill Auberlen, Boris Said III, Dieter Quester, Derek Hill, Les Delano, Mark Simo, Ross Bentley, Peter Cunningham, Andy Petery, Marc Duez, Javier Quiros, and Tom Hessert, among others.

The team switched recently from the M3 coupe to the M3 sedan and instantly gained better weight distribution and more speed. It seems the sedan's windshield is racked more than the coupe's and therefore allows the car to run with less frontal resistance.
