1926 Pedroso Supercharged
Although Pedroso is Spanish, the cars of Marques San Carlos de Pedroso were
assembled at Biarritz in France.
The engine is a straight eight of 2L to 3L and is joined to a four speed
transmission. Variable camshaft
timing could be controlled from the cockpit. De Pedroso was among some of
the greatest automobile minds
of the time as he was said to be on the board of Hispano-Suiza and a friend
of Ettore Bugatti. The latter of
whom he was said to meet for lunches at the Paris Athletic Club. Sportscar
racing at Le Mans was De Pedroso's
ultimate goal though it was never to be as a roadcar accident cut the dream
short. This car is owned by the
Petersen Automotive Museum of Los Angeles.
